The Shorecrest Kayak

You have likely noticed the painted kayak in front of the Shorecrest office and event center. It has been used on our website, as our logo and is representative of our community. One could call it iconic!

But what is the story behind it?

Many of us newcomers have no idea what it represents or how it ended up here.

The kayak is the work of former Shorecrest resident Sandra Robertson, who is survived by her husband Terry Robertson.  Sandra painted the kayak, and together they built the stands, installed it where it sits, and even planted the beds around it.

Thanks to Sandra, for donating her original piece of art to Shorecrest, while adding to the beauty and legacy of the community.
